I love people! Meeting someone and learning about their life and their business is the highlight of my day. I'm curious, inspired and motivated by the dreams and visions of others. Having over a decade of experience running my own event planning and production company, I understand the rewards and challenges associated with being a business owner. While the flexibility was a blessing for me, I was often overwhelmed, lonely and wanted (and needed) support and collaboration on the business side of the business that I didn't feel as confident in. I sought coaching to help me process and clarify priorities. It gave me confidence as I grew my financial and professional acumen.
I truly believe that anyone who is called to start their own business in their field of expertise has what it takes within them to be successful. A good coach will help them tap into the wellspring of truth that resides within them, from where ideas, answers, and abundance will flow.
Working with the right coach is nothing short of miraculous fuel for the entrepreneur's fire. It has been such a gift for me to witness the empowerment and momentum that flows from the co-creative relationships that I have with my clients. I have witnessed the relief, inspiration, motivation, confidence, growth and massive abundance of clients after the sessions. I hope that everyone who is curious about this coaching profession, avails themselves the gift.
I used to live life like it was a race and there was a destination (or an event). I was performance based, a perfectionist who was seeking validation and nothing but the best result was acceptable. While I was always so pumped up at the start of a project because of my authentic enthusiasm for my client's visions and the inspiration to make it happen, I found the execution exhausting. I was overstimulated in traditional work environments and I never mastered how to balance a healthy personal life (especially after having children) with a robust event planning career. I was forever preoccupied with what I missed and checking things off the to do list. I was told on more than one occasion that I can't care more than my clients from people on my team. I struggled to stay grounded in myself throughout my projects.
The irony was that I received wonderful feedback from clients and the projects were beautiful and successful. However, nothing was ever enough - no external reinforcement hit the "spirit". My obsessive approach to life - and business - became so unbearable that the cycle of burnout led to my biggest crash. I, literally, couldn't continue living the way that I was living another day. I walked away from the event production industry after two decades in the middle of a contract (rough, right?) for an institution and a community that I had dedicated five years of my family's life to. My way of producing was unsustainable and I finally reached a point where I couldn't "do" it anymore. When I admitted that I couldn't keep "doing" it, I found that "being" a coach is my calling.
Since a young age, I've had close relationships. My favorite Christmas presents growing up were Girltalk, the game, and my first phone! I'm the one at the party who you'll see on a couch with a new or old friend "going deep" about one thing or another. I've been a facilitator of friendships and an inspired entertainer.
Independent schools in Los Angeles led me to Princeton University to study Art History. I love being a part of a team. Playing competitive Volleyball, through high school and college, was a positive and grounding support. My love of artists' stories and personal passion for the arts culminated in a thesis about Henri Matisse, whose late stage cut-outs when his eyes failed him were beautiful installation art. An eye for detail, design and space, served me in my career in special event planning, design and production. I was blessed to produce many high profile events and hospitality programs. On paper, it was a dream career, but it didn't feel right.
How grateful I am now for a universe that turned up the volume loud enough that I finally got the message. Now, on my new path, I prioritize my spiritual wellbeing so that I serve my clients. Coaching allows me to practice and enjoy my favorite aspects of my former career, collaborating and co-creating with interesting, creative and hard working people! And, I get to support my clients make their visions become reality. I love knowing that living my true journey landed me a career empowering other open-minded, willing people on their paths of success and fulfillment.
